Troy D. Warner is a construction worker turned attorney, with a broad array of work experiences as a Laborer with Local 645, a Journeyman Electrician with IBEW Local 153, an extern for city legal department, an extern for State & Federal Court Judges, Misdemeanor Public Defender for indigent, Misdemeanor & Felony Public Defender in Juvenile Court, Attorney for City Clerk, Attorney for various small businesses and labor & trade unions, and currently as the Attorney for Sheriff & County Police Department.
Councilmember Warner spent a decade working full-time and studying nights and weekends to obtain degrees in Applied Science, A.S. summa cum laude from Ivy Technical College (2005), Labor Studies minor Business Management, B.S. with honors from Indiana University – South Bend (2011), and finally a law degree, J.D. magna cum laude with honors from Valparaiso University Law School (2015).
Troy has volunteered and supported Youth Services Bureau, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, NAACP, Center for the Homeless, the Food Bank of Northern Indiana, Habitat for Humanity, Ronald McDonald House, Art Beat, Stuff-A-Bus, Chet Waggoner Little League, Re-Building Together, On The River & SB 150. He has been married to Erin Ambler-Warner since 1998, residing in the Northshore Triangle since 2008 where they have raised two college-age daughters.
