The Organic Resources Facility takes in raw materials for compost and mulch. In 2018, the facility took in more than 13,400 tons of leaves, brush, wood and other yard waste. Organic Resources has the Seal of Approval for the United States Compost Council and is enrolled in a Seal of Testing Assurance Program. The compost and mulch products made are available to the public. While self-loaded materials are free, larger amounts require a small fee. The Organic Resources Facility also stores the biosolids produced at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. This product is land applied by the facility’s staff in the spring and fall for beneficial use by area farmers.
