April 19, 2023 — The Riverside Drive – California Avenue – Leland Avenue Intersection Improvement Project begins Monday, April 24. Work includes the removal of the wide right-turn lane on Riverside Drive and shifting the curb to better align with the rest of the street. Sidewalks and curb ramps will also be replaced along with new bumpouts, trees and storm sewer work. Along with the intersection, California Avenue from the intersection to Portage Avenue will also be paved.
Starting Monday, April 24, the intersection will be closed for the duration of the project. The project is expected to be completed by Friday, June 30, weather permitting. Detour routes will be Vassar Avenue and Lafayette Boulevard via Navarre Street and Portage Avenue.
