Bianca Tirado is the City Clerk of South Bend, Indiana, where she plays a crucial role as the administrative backbone of the Common Council. In her role, Madam Clerk Tirado is dedicated to fostering an open, honest, and transparent municipal government. The Office of the City Clerk, under her leadership, meticulously manages the legislation that flows into Common Council meetings. Madam Clerk Tirado ensures that all documents are accurately prepared and processed, from organizing agendas to recording minutes, facilitating the smooth operation of Council sessions.
Madam Clerk Tirado and her team are deeply committed to serving and engaging with the community. They actively participate in local events, support civic education initiatives, and collaborate with various organizations to enhance public awareness and involvement in city affairs. Their goal is to ensure that every resident has access to important information, can easily participate in the legislative process, and feels connected to their local government. They believe that strong community ties are essential for fostering a vibrant and inclusive city.
Raised locally, Madam Clerk Tirado earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in African and African American Diaspora Studies from Indiana University in Bloomington. She furthered her education with a Masterโs in Executive Nonprofit Administration from the University of Notre Dame, which provided her with advanced skills in leadership and nonprofit management.
Madam Clerk Tiradoโs professional journey is complemented by her active engagement in the community. She is a proud alumna of Hoosier Women Forward Class 2, a program dedicated to empowering women in leadership throughout the state of Indiana. Additionally, she is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., contributing to various community-focused initiatives.
Residing in South Bend with her wife, Pamela, and their beloved goldendoodles, Reko and Nala, Biancaโs commitment to her community and family reflects her deep-rooted connection to the area and her dedication to making a positive impact.
