March 25, 2025 — Beginning Thursday, March 27, temporary lane restrictions and closures will be in effect as work begins on the Ireland Road and Ironwood Road Intersection Improvement Project. The project involves a full reconstruction of the pavement, realignment of the curbs and the installation of new traffic signals. In September 2022, the pavement at the intersection was patched to stabilize the area prior to the full reconstruction project.
Construction will be completed in six phases. Each phase could take up to 21 days to complete, weather permitting. Traffic restrictions and closures will vary as work progresses through each phase. The signal work has already been completed.
Access to all businesses in the impacted areas will be maintained during construction.
The $1.8 million project was awarded to Milestone Contractors North, LLC. The anticipated completion date of the project is early July, weather permitting.
Phase 1 Details
During Phase 1, construction will focus on the northwest side of the intersection. Southbound traffic on Ironwood Road will be reduced to one through lane and one left-turn lane. Right turns onto Ireland Drive from southbound Ironwood Road will not be permitted. A graphic is attached for further clarification.
The detour route for Phase 1 will direct drivers south on Ironwood Road to Jackson Road, then onto Miami Street.
