June 16, 2025 — Starting Tuesday, June 17, the sixth and final phase of construction begins at the Ireland Road and Ironwood Drive intersection. During this phase, work will focus on the center lanes of Ireland Road, including the intersection. After construction is complete, crews will pave the final layer of asphalt across the entire intersection. This work will be done at night to minimize disruption.
During this phase of construction, left turns will be prohibited from all directions at the intersection. Northbound and southbound traffic will not be able to pass through the intersection. Drivers on Ironwood Drive will only be allowed to turn right onto Ireland Road. Drivers on Ireland Road will be able to continue straight or turn right.
Northbound traffic will detour east on Ireland Road, north on Bremen Highway, then west on Lincoln Way East. Southbound traffic will detour west on Ireland Drive, south on Miami Street, then east on Jackson Road. Graphics are attached for further clarification.
Access to all businesses in the impacted areas will be maintained during construction.
This intersection improvement project includes a full reconstruction of the pavement, curb realignment and upgraded traffic signals. Construction is divided into six phases. Each phase could take up to 21 days to complete, weather permitting. Traffic restrictions and closures will vary as work progresses through each phase. The project is expected to be complete by early July, weather permitting.
