May 20, 2025 — The Ireland Road and Ironwood Drive Intersection Improvement Project is moving into Phase 4 with work shifting to the southwest corner of the intersection starting on or after Wednesday, May 21.
During this phase, traffic at the intersection will continue to be restricted to one through lane and one left turn lane. Eastbound traffic on Ireland Road will not be able to turn right onto Ironwood Drive. The detour route for Phase 4 will direct drivers east on Ireland Road, south on Bremen Highway, then west on the US 20 Bypass to reconnect with Ironwood Drive. Access to all businesses in the impacted areas will be maintained during construction.
This intersection improvement project includes a full reconstruction of the pavement, curb realignment and upgraded traffic signals. Construction is divided into six phases. Each phase could take up to 21 days to complete, weather permitting. Traffic restrictions and closures will vary as work progresses through each phase. The project is expected to be complete by early July, weather permitting.
