October 29, 2025 — The City of South Bend’s Fall Leaf Pickup program will begin Monday, November 3. At this time, the City is releasing only the first round of pickup dates. The second round will be announced at the end of November.
City crews will collect leaves from neighborhoods, street by street, based on the schedule available at southbendin.gov/leafpickup. Residents do NOT need to call to request a pickup. All scheduled dates are weather permitting and subject to change. Residents are encouraged to check the website for the most up-to-date schedule.
Residents can also track leaf pickup in real-time using the City’s Leaf Pickup Map at southbendin.gov/leafpickup. The interactive map shows the status of different zones and leaf pickup on individual streets. Residents can enter their address or zoom in to find their location. Note: The map may take a few seconds to load.
Leaf pickup will run from early November through the end of the year, weather permitting. Crews will collect all leaves in one zone before beginning in the next. Leaf pickup in a particular zone can sometimes take several days before moving to the next zone.
Below are guidelines that residents are asked to follow for the Leaf Pickup program:
• Leaves should be raked to the tree lawn area, NOT into the street, by 6 am on the scheduled set out date.
• Leaves should be free of sticks, trash and other debris or they will not be picked up.
• Cars should not be parked on top or in front of leaf piles along curb lines, as this hampers leaf collection.
• Leaf burning is prohibited and is a violation of City ordinance.
Residents participating in the City’s Yard Waste program can also put leaves in yard waste bins. Weekly collections continue through Friday, November 28. Residents can call 311 with any questions.
