The City of South Bend’s Engagement and Economic Empowerment (EEE) team has announced the schedule for the 5th year of the Linden Avenue Farmer’s Market, a seasonal nutrition and health-based outreach partnership between local and regional farmers, food vendors, health and wellbeing organizations, and food outreach coordinators committed to addressing the far-reaching implications of food insecurity.

“This City initiative provides locally grown fresh fruit, vegetables, and culturally appropriate food to our community through the Linden Avenue Farmers Market,” said Director of Engagement and Economic Empowerment Team, Mary McAfee. “We are excited to return to our original site at the MLK Dream Center and are determined to empower the community through creating healthy food options at an affordable cost while supporting local farmers, vendors, and entrepreneurs.”

Five farmers’ markets will take place on the second Saturday of every month starting in May until September and will feature local food vendors, farmers, a live DJ, and other family-friendly interactive entertainment at the Martin Luther King Dream Center located at 1522 Linden Ave. on the following dates:

  • Saturday, May 10, 10am-2pm
  • Saturday, June 14, 10am-2pm
  • Saturday, July 12, 10am-2pm
  • Saturday, August 9, 10am-2pm
  • Saturday, September 13, 10am-2pm
