The City, in partnership with neighborhood residents and stakeholders, has launched the LaSalle Park Neighborhood plan, which includes a series of events to create a neighborhood plan for the LaSalle Park Neighborhood. The planning process, which begins in October, includes three parts, a housing panel discussion, neighborhood visioning workshop, and priorities workshop, which are all open to the public to participate.

“The City is committed to working with the community to move every neighborhood forward,” said Mayor James Mueller. “This planning process invites all voices as we reimagine the future of LaSalle Park together. The resulting plan will provide a strategy for allocating our resources and implementing priority projects and initiatives to improve the LaSalle Park neighborhood.”

The start of this series will begin with a housing panel on Tuesday, October 24 at 6pm at the Charles Black Community Center. Keynote speaker Marques King and local developers will discuss opportunities and challenges of building new housing, and will conclude with a Q&A.

The visioning workshop will follow on Thursday, October 26 from 10am-6pm at the Charles Black Community Center. This workshop will allow residents to provide their ideas as the neighborhood sets a broad direction for its housing, infrastructure, land use, amenities, and other key topics.

Lastly, the priorities workshop will take place on Thursday, November 16 from 10am-6pm at the Charles Black Community Center. This workshop will provide a recap of the planning process and will open to group discussions about the neighborhood’s future priorities.

“We’re excited to begin the engagement process for the development of the LaSalle Park Neighborhood plan,” said Caleb Bauer, Executive Director of Community Investment. “Our team encourages residents to take part in this process and set the future vision for public investments in the neighborhood.”

A neighborhood survey is open for residents and community members to take part in until November 3.
