The new class of the South Bend Youth Task Force met for the first time November 30 to discuss plans for the 2017-18 academic year. This is the fourth class to participate in the volunteer program, which is open to all high school students in the city of South Bend.
“The young leaders of the South Bend Youth Task Force will be an asset to our community now and into the future,” said Buttigieg. “Their energy and perspective will inform the City’s work and strengthen the relationship between young people and the entire South Bend community.”
The South Bend Youth Task Force is a diverse group of high school students from the South Bend community schools. New and returning members are currently working on ending youth on youth violence and developing ways to reach out to their fellow students to improve engagement.
