Venues Parks & Arts (VPA), in partnership with U93 and EventSys, presents a special Drive-In movie presentation of The Sandlot, on Friday, May 15 beginning at 9:15 p.m. in the Century Center parking lot, located at 120 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. Gates will open at 8:00 pm, with the movie set to begin at sundown, approximately 9:15 pm. The event is free and open to all ages.
For the first time ever, Venues Parks & Arts will be taking over the parking lot of the Century Center to create a unique drive-in movie experience in the heart of South Bend’s downtown. Attendees will be able to catch an outdoor screening of the family classic “The Sandlot” on 25 foot tall inflatable screen while listening to the movie’s audio through their car radio, thanks in part to our partners EventSys and U93.
To complete the fun movie experience, each car will be provided with a prepackaged bag of popcorn and a travel size hand sanitizer on arrival. In addition, Indiana Whiskey will also be onsite selling their bottles of hand sanitizer – to purchase. Parking spots are limited and will be first come, first serve for the first 100 vehicles.
In efforts to keep everyone safe and maintain proper physical distancing, attendees must stay in their vehicle, except to go to the restroom or to purchase hand sanitizer from Indiana Whiskey, and must wear a face mask covering their mouth and nose for this purpose.
Venues Parks & Arts is a department in the City of South Bend that inspires a more livable South Bend for all, connecting people to emotionally engaging experiences and to one another. For more information about Venues Parks & Arts visit www.sbvpa.org.
