The St. Joseph County Housing Consortium invites the public to attend upcoming meetings on Tuesday, April 23 and Wednesday, April 24. The April 23 meeting will be held from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the Main Branch of the St. Joseph County Public Library in the Colfax Auditorium. The April 24 meeting will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Mishawaka City Hall in the City Council Chambers. At both meetings attendees will learn about the 5-year Housing and Community Development (HCD) Plan that is required for annual U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funding programs. Meeting attendees will have an opportunity to provide input on community needs and how those needs could be addressed with the related funding.
Both meetings will open with brief introductions to the basics of the plan process and related funding. A consultant, retained by the Consortium, will facilitate discussion and take notes on attendee comments regarding community needs and how the Consortium could serve low- and moderate-income individuals with the funding.
