The Office of Mayor Pete Buttigieg is now accepting applications for its Youth Task Force, now in its fifth class of students. A volunteer community service program, the Task Force is open to all students in grades 9-12 who attend school in South Bend.
The Youth Task Force provides an opportunity for youths to make a positive impact in their community. Members will drive an advocacy program targeting youth conflict in the community. Activities include volunteering at local organizations and providing feedback and recommendations on outreach to local youth.
“The Youth Task force will introduce teenagers to local leaders, residents, the economy, and a host of issues,” Mayor Buttigieg says. “We hope to capitalize on their ideas and energy, and put their talents and goodwill to use in making South Bend a better place.”
Applications are due by 11:59 pm on Tuesday, June 8th. The process is competitive and members will be chosen to reflect the diversity of South Bend. Applications may be complete online and sent to the following address:
