Beginning Wednesday, April 25, temporary lane restrictions and closures are expected as work begins on the Ironwood Drive Pavement Rehabilitation and Intersection Project, which is funded through the state of Indiana’s Community Crossings Matching Grant. As part of this project, the intersection of Ironwood Drive and Edison Road will undergo reconstruction of approximately 600 feet of concrete pavement and signal modernization, including new poles and traffic lights. Ironwood Drive will also be paved from Corby Boulevard to Edison Road.
Traffic restrictions and closures for the Ironwood/Edison intersection are as follows:
– Ironwood Drive from Edison Road to Oak Park Drive will be closed. Northbound and southbound traffic will not be able to cross Edison Road.
– East and westbound traffic on Edison Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Traffic will not be able to turn south onto Ironwood Drive.
Detour routes will be in place 24 hours a day until the work is complete. Southbound traffic on Ironwood will be detoured west on Edison Road to State Road 23, south on Twyckenham Drive and east on McKinley Avenue to rejoin Ironwood. Northbound traffic on Ironwood Drive will reverse the flow: Ironwood Drive to McKinley Avenue to Twyckenham Drive to State Road 23 to Edison Road, before rejoining Ironwood.
In addition, there will be temporary lane restrictions for milling and paving at the following locations:
– Ironwood Drive from Roosevelt Street to State Road 23
– Ironwood Drive from Corby Boulevard to Edison Road
The City will be releasing its 2018 paving list within the next week.
