City to Offer Additional Yard Waste Pickup on Call-In Basis

November 30, 2023 — The City of South Bend Solid Waste Division is offering one additional pickup of its yard waste bins on a call-in basis only during the week of December 11. Regular weekly pickup for the City’s yard waste program ended this week. Residents can call 311 from Monday, December 4 to Friday, December 8 to request an additional pickup of yard waste bins. Pickup will occur during the week of December 11 on the same day as trash pickup. Residents are asked to help reduce contamination by only putting grass clippings, leaves, twigs and weeds in the yard waste bins. Items such as animal waste, dirt and rocks, household trash and food waste, lumber, oils, liquids and other hazardous waste, plastic bags and recycling do NOT belong in yard waste bins.
