REQUESTING COMMENT ON A
DRAFT PROGRAMMATIC AGREEMENT BETWEEN
THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND AND THE INDIANA
STATE HISTORIC PRESERVATION OFFICER
FOR HUD FUNDED PROGRAMS
AND PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
Pursuant to the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 as amended (16 U.S.C. §470f) and 36 C.F.R. Part 800 14(b)(2); the City of South Bend is required to make available for comment the Programmatic Agreement between the City of South Bend, the Indiana Division of Historic Preservation and the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) to facilitate Section 106 compliance for programs using funding originating from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the purposes of taking into account the effects of HUD undertakings on historic properties. This agreement covers programs that use funds originating from HUD for which HUD has delegated compliance responsibility, pursuant to 24 CFR Part 58, with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.
The City prepared this document in accordance with 36 CFR Section 800.14(b)(2) using a template developed in consultation between the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Division of Historic Preservation and Archaeology (DHPA), EPA Region V OEE, and the Advisory Council of Historic Preservation.
The City welcomes interested parties to participate in the consultation regarding the agreement during the 30-day comment period. Copies may be obtained at the Department of Community Investment, 227 W. Jefferson Blvd, 13th Floor, South Bend, Indiana 46601, or on the City of South Bend’s website at

Hearing Time and Location
A public hearing will be held to solicit views, comments and feedback on Wednesday, September 18 at 5:30 PM in the Department of Community Investment conference room on the 14th floor of the CountyCity Building, 227 West Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, IN 46601.
