South Bend Fire Department Services Division

The Assistant Chief of Services serves as the Health and Safety Officer for the South Bend Fire Department. The Assistant Chief also manages physical locations, fleet, and the equipment for the Department.

Responsibilities of Health and Safety Division Services

  • Health and Safety Officer
    • Peer Support Team
    • Peer Fitness Trainers
    • Health and Safety Committee – joint committee with representatives from South Bend Firefighters Association L362.
  • Budgeting, and Procurement
  • Liaison with City departments of Administration and Finance.
  • EMS Billing
  • Facilities Maintenance
  • Fleet Maintenance
