Today, the City of South Bend launched the 2025 Neighborhood IGNITE (Innovation Grants for Neighborhood Inspiration, Transformation, and Enhancement) Grant Program. This program can provide up to $15,000 for a single neighborhood or $30,000 for two neighborhood associations to jumpstart projects that positively impact their community.
“Providing resources to neighborhood associations enables residents to participate in grassroots changes that impact safety and beautification,” said Mary McAfee, Director of Engagement and Economic Empowerment. “We’re looking forward to new ideas in 2025 and supporting neighborhood leaders as they bring them to fruition.”
Last year’s 2024 IGNITE Grant projects included new neighborhood signage, bus shelter, park benches & enhancements, pocket park improvements, and neighborhood lawncare trailers.
While preference will be given to neighborhood associations that did not receive a grant in the past, all active neighborhood associations are encouraged to learn more and apply.
Applications for the 2025 IGNITE Grant are now open and will close on September 26 at 5 p.m. One-on-one meetings with an IGNITE Project Manager can be scheduled from July 28- September 17.
