In honor of Black History Month, the City of South Bend today released a series of billboards around the community intended to enrich residents’ understanding of local African Americans who have contributed to South Bend’s history and culture. Each honoree will be recognized on three digital billboards located by the Linebacker Lounge, Ironwood Rd and State Road 23, and Lincolnway East through Sunday, March 4.
“South Bend has been shaped by the African American community throughout our history,” said Mayor Pete Buttigieg. “That legacy continues with today’s leaders. Their work guides South Bend as an inclusive community that helps all residents thrive.”
