South Bend Census Champions
The City of South Bend and the St. Joseph County Public Library have partnered together in preparation for the 2020 Census. We’ve recruited a collection of local organizations across the City (“Census Champions”) to create a network of support for an inclusive Census 2020 count in South Bend. Local Census Champions will receive a $2,500 award from the City to support their efforts.
The organizations below are the nonprofits, places of worship, neighborhood organizations, and anchor institutions who are championing a complete county in our community. The Census determines where billions of dollars are funneled around the U.S., influences the number of representatives we have in Congress, and shapes local research and mission-driven work for a decade to come. We chose these partners because they are trusted voices in our community and are geographically placed in or near hard-to-count areas of our city.
All the Organizations below have pledged to conduct online and phone outreach throughout the months of April and May!
