BUTTIGIEG ANNOUNCES NEW DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS
Mayor Pete Buttigieg has named Mark Bode as the new Director of Communications for the Mayor’s Office in South Bend.
“I am happy to announce that we are bringing Mark on board,” Mayor Buttigieg said. “He will help our office highlight South Bend as a model for the state and the country. This work will further place our community within a context of national challenges and trends, putting us at the forefront of urban innovation.”
Bode joins the office from Harvard University, where he studied Government and Economics and served as the managing editor of the Harvard Political Review. During the summer of 2016, he worked as an intern in Mayor Buttigieg’s office. He also has experience with the United States Conference of Mayors, and is a recipient of the Presidential Public Service Fellowship.
“I am thrilled at the opportunity to rejoin the Mayor’s Office,” Bode said. “I look forward to contributing to the exciting work of Mayor Buttigieg and his staff.”
