Marion Street to Reopen. Work to Begin on Charles Martin Sr Drive.
Marion Street from Lincoln Way West to Madison Street is scheduled to reopen to vehicular traffic on Wednesday, October 10. Also, on Wednesday, Charles Martin Sr Drive between Lincoln Way West and Oak Street will close as phase two begins on the Lincoln Way West and Charles Martin Sr Drive Intersection Improvement Project. The anticipated reopening date for Charles Martin Sr Drive is Friday, November 16. During phase two, Lincoln Way West will remain open, but traffic will be restricted.
The Lincoln Way West and Charles Martin Sr Drive Intersection Improvement Project will narrow the intersection by adding new curbs and sidewalks to make it more pedestrian friendly. In addition to the new curbs and sidewalks, street paving, decorative lighting, new traffic signals, trees and landscaping are also planned. The project is expected to be completed in January 2019.
