Lincoln Way West and Charles Martin Sr Drive Improvement Project Begins Friday
Starting Friday, August 10, Marion Street from Lincoln Way West to Madison Street will close as construction begins on the Lincoln Way West and Charles Martin Sr Drive Intersection Improvement Project. The project will narrow the intersection by adding new curbs and sidewalks to make it more pedestrian friendly. In addition to the new curbs and sidewalks, street paving, decorative lighting, trees and landscaping are also planned. The anticipated completion date for this project is Thursday, November 8.
During construction, Lincoln Way West will remain open, but traffic will be restricted; however, there will be two phases of street closures:
Marion Street from Lincoln Way to Madison Street will be closed for approximately 40 days from August 10 to October 3.
Charles Martin Sr. Drive will be closed from Lincoln Way West to Oak Street for approximately 27 days from October 3 to November 8.
